Charlotte Street is a refurbished office space in Fitzrovia, offering flexible workspace with amenities including a manned reception, breakout areas, private meeting rooms, and a roof terrace.
The project required a fire alarm solution that could be delivered within a tight programme, while supporting future flexibility as office layouts change to suit different tenants.
With a fixed deadline and multiple trades working on site, the installation needed to be completed quickly without compromising quality or compliance.Because the office spaces were intended to be reconfigured over time, the system also needed to support future changes with minimal disruption. In addition, the premises needed to remain secure overnight while still allowing authorised staff access.
To meet the project timeline and support ongoing adaptability, ECS specified a wireless fire alarm system. To support secure out-of-hours operation, ECS also connected the intruder alarm system to the existing Paxton system, allowing the building to remain armed overnight while enabling authorised access.
Wireless technology reduced the need for extensive cabling and helped minimise disruption during installation.
The system supported the project timeline and provided a fire alarm solution that can be adapted as the internal layout evolves. It also allowed works to progress without unnecessary impact on other trades working concurrently on site. The completed installation also supports secure out-of-hours operation, with the intruder alarm remaining armed overnight while authorised staff can still access the building.
